We’ve purposefully held off penning this blog since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in February because we wanted to gather data on how small businesses in general, our existing clients, and new customers are behaving amid these financially harsh times. Now that we’re in June, the message we’ve heard loud and clear, over and over is a critical one – and more than a little bit scary:

Why? Well, it’s obvious. All you have to do is look around.

- Get a responsive website (changes from desktop to mobile seamlessly) that’s updated often for changes in search habits, Google algorithms, content and technical SEO (Search Engine Optimization), and more.
- Run highly-targeted SEM ads, or “Search Engine Marketing” ads, on Google so that you get seen when people search for things they need.
- Become regularly active and engaging on social media using Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, as well make sure your contact info is up-to-date.
- Start a blog on your website and create short, value-added posts once per month (at least).
- Make sure your Google My Business profile is active, up-to-date and configured properly.
By simply taking care of these few items, you’ll begin to put yourself and your business into the best possible position to win new customers and out-do your competition. In fact, as you’re consistent and keep things fresh and up-to-date, your “digital esteem” and web presence will grow with vital services such as Google Search.
